Joe DeMare for Wood County Commissioner
Joe is THE anti-data center candidate for the November, 2026 election in Wood County, Ohio. Welcome to our website! Go with Joe if you want a candidate who is: Independent, Joe is neither Democrat nor Republican; a Fighter, Joe fought the City of Bowling Green's penalty on rooftop solar panels for seven long years before finally winning; and a Believer in Democracy, Joe truly believes that the citizens of Wood County should have the final say over what happens here not the millionaires and billionaires who are forcing projects like the Meta data center on us while ducking their responsibility to support the community through taxes.

No More Data Centers!
The Meta Data Center is a blight on Wood County. It has ruined wells, destroyed property values, and wrecked the quiet, rural nature of Wood County. With a 15 year tax abatement, the County is seeing very little benefit from this monstrous project. Many of the workers building it are from out of state, and when they're finished, there will be just a handful of jobs created.
Joe has promised to dig in and fight any future data centers with every tool a Commissioner has. He spoke at a recent Planning Commission meeting where the project ate up another 40 acres of farmland for a parking lot. Joe told the Commissioners to vote against changing the zoning from A1 to M1, but they didn't listen. Once he's on the Board, they'll HAVE to listen.
As he's gone door-to-door all over the County, it's clear that the people of Wood County universally oppose more data centers. But, the Republican incumbent has done nothing but enable them with her votes and policies. The Democrat says she's against some data centers of certain sizes, but she won't promise to be opposed to ANY new data centers.
As an Independent, Joe is free to make and keep promises without having to worry about following the Party line. He won't "go along to get along." Once he's elected, it won't be "Business as Usual." If you really want to see change, Go With Joe!
